I knew Joan for a good few years through stitch. I was aways impressed by her stitch (even as her sight failed), her interest in everyone, their work and her sense of humour. I was the Chair of the EG for several years and then of STACS. Joan was very supportive of that change and me and she kept me on my toes - with a twinkle in her eye!
